SUMMER IS IN THE AIR

Hi everyone!!

We are half way through the year and summer has officially began. We hope it has been a great year so far and hope it continues to get better. As summer begins, we hope you take the time to reflect on the past months, the journey and the growth.

We would like to thank you all for your support and contributions to the growth of our Foundation. Without your love and support, the Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation wouldn't be where it is today. We look forward to your continued support. We love and appreciate you.

HAVE A GREAT SUMMER : )

"Appreciation is a wonderful thing." - Voltaire

MAY IS CHILD'S MONTH
“Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.” – John F Kennedy

This year it was celebrated under the theme “Act Now! Stand Against Child Abuse and Exploitation”.

This year’s theme is a call to action for Jamaicans to protect our children and create safe spaces for them. Every child is important and is worth protecting.

As parents and guardians, we have a responsibility to provide a safe space for our children, to stand up and speak out for them when they are unable to and teach them how to do it for themselves.

"Your children need your presence, not your presents." - Jesse Jackson

Half Way Tree Primary Blood Drive

For Child's Month, the Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation was invited to the Half Way Tree Primary School's Blood Drive.

Thank you to Half Way Tree Primary School and the Kiwanis Club for inviting us. We had a great time sharing our information and interacting with the students.

MOTHER'S DAY

Belated Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing mothers who go above and beyond for their children.

Special love to our Kidney Kids mothers, who, despite the challenges, go the extra mile to love, support and take care of their children.

We love you all!!

Death of Kidney Kid

It is with saddened heart that we announce the death of 7 years old Devanne Bennett. He was and jovial and playful child who was always smiling no matter what.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Congratulations to our Kidney Kids, Carl Blake, who graduated from high school. We pray that God continues to bless him wherever his journey may take him.

WHO Adopts Resolution to Prioritize Kidney Health

At the 78th World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva, the World Health Organization (WHO) adopted the first-ever resolution focused on kidney health, marking a historic turning point in the fight against this silent global epidemic.

The WHO resolution, “Reducing the burden of noncommunicable diseases through the promotion of kidney health and strengthening prevention and control of kidney disease,”  was led by Guatemala with support from countries and stakeholders around the world.

Cycler Donation

Via the CHASE Fund, the Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation was able to purchase a brand new peritoneal dialysis cycler to donate to the University Hospital of the West Indies.

Thank you CHASE Fund. This device will help to improve the care and treatment for children with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Back To School

As summer begins, we are launched into a new stage in preparation for the next school term back-to-school. JKKF tries our best to help our children in need with back to school preparations. As such, we would greatly appreciate your support and assistance in getting school supplies for our Kidney Kids.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE JAMAICA

Happy Emancipation and Independence Jamaica!! May our flag continue to flow high and our nation stand strong.

Out of many, we are one. One Heart, One Love. One People.

Please Help Our Kidney Kids

Our Kidney Kids need your HELP!!

We currently have a 15 year old boy and a 13 year old girl in need of life saving surgeries. They both have access issues, which is stopping them from receiving dialysis treatments.

The total cost needed to help both children is $835,828.09

Please help us to raise the funds to help them.

HOW YOUR DONATIONS HELP

Monthly, the Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation spends at least $300,000 on medications for the Kidney Kids, as well as additional sums for catheters or whatever other medical supplies that may be needed for treatment.

The Binocrit 4000 erythropoietin is the most expensive medication that we supply monthly. For the month, we supply 7 boxes for our Kidney Kids, which costs $200,000.

The binocrit is used to treat anemia in chronic kidney disease. It stimulates the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells and reduce the need for blood transfusions. All our kidney kids on dialysis need this medication.

Please help us to continue to support the needs of our children. Our monthly goal for donations is $400,000. This cost will help us to cover the monthly donation needs, as well as any other medical supply that the Kidney Kids may need.

OUR REGULAR DONATIONS CONTINUE IN SPITE OF OUR FINANCIAL LIMITATIONS

The JKKF continues to donate catheters and medication monthly to aid in the care of our children with kidney disease. These donations help to save or lengthen the life of a child on dialysis.

We are currently financially strapped and need help to continue supporting the children. We would like to encourage you all to donate, even if it is just $100, every little counts.

You can make a donation via our NCB Account:

We truly appreciate your kindness.

Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation gives thanks to God and all our supporters for enabling us to still be around to serve our vulnerable Kidney Kids.

Please tell your friends about JKKF as
our continued survival depends on regular donations.

Your donations are important because “if the money we donate helps one child or can ease the pain of one parent, those funds are well spent.” – Carl Archer
